National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance (NYACOP)

The 2008 competition is now in progress. 24 competitors were chosen in an initial recorded round held earlier this year. From this group, 7 semi-finalists were chosen to compete at the semi-final round, to be held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, May 14, 2008. The 3 finalists from Knoxville will compete in conjunction with the 2008 National Convention in Minneapolis.
 
The NYACOP finals will take place at Saint Mark's Episcopal Catheral in Minneapolis on Sunday, June 22, from 1 - 5:30 pm.
 
Prizes
First Place, the Lilian Murtagh Memorial Prize $2,000, funded by Karen McFarlane Artists
Second Place $2,000, funded by John-Paul Buzard Pipe Organ Builders
Third Place $1,000, funded by The Noack Organ Company Inc.
Audience-Choice Prize $500, funded by Martin Ott Pipe Organ Company Inc.

First place winners receive career development assistance from Karen McFarlane Artists, Inc.
